Entrance to Fort Edmonton at La Ronde. Located in the Pioneerland sector of La Ronde, Fort Edmonton is an immersive reconstruction of the Canadian West during the pioneer era. Designed by André Blouin, this complex combines wooden buildings, shops, restaurants, and performance spaces. Visitors could relive the atmosphere of the time through iconic features: the “Golden Garter Saloon,” Dixieland music performances, and artisans at work, such as printers and hatmakers. The fort recreated an authentic and lively ambiance, where every detail evoked the adventures of the pioneers. Source: Expo 67 General Report.
