PHOTO — Australia Pavilion (inside, photos)

The interior of the Australian Pavilion featured an ingenious and luminous design, with four trumpet-shaped hollow columns diffusing natural light throughout the space. The main exhibits were divided into four thematic areas: sciences, highlighted by a model of the Parkes radio telescope; Australian lifestyle, exemplified by a model of Canberra, the “garden city”; arts, blending traditional Aboriginal works with modern Australian paintings; and economic expansion, showcasing projects such as the Snowy Mountains hydroelectric scheme.
