Conçu par Jean Faugeron, architecte en chef et Grand Prix de Rome, en collaboration avec André Blouin (Québec), le pavillon de la France se distingue par une architecture moderne et sculpturale. Sa structure monolithique, composée de huit niveaux évidés en son centre, est enveloppée de lames brise-soleil en aluminium qui créent des jeux d’ombres et de lumière. À l’intérieur, les visiteurs pouvaient explorer des expositions sur les thèmes de la tradition et de l’invention, mettant en avant la culture, l’art et l’innovation scientifique français.
